Seattle (Feb 3, 2012) - Save the City Records is proud to announce the signing of artist/producer Jekob Washington and duo "The Washington Projects", comprised of Jekob and his sister Rachael, formerly of the Dove Award winning group "Souljahz."

Derek Hoiem, CEO of Save the City Records says, "We are continuing to build a portfolio of top artists who also care passionately about ministering to people. Jekob and Rachael from The Washington Projects are excellent in their musical craft and passionate to share their faith. We look forward to the innovative work we will be doing with them to reach people for Christ." Jekob says, "Rachael and I are incredibly honored to be the newest members of the Save The City Records roster. We feel that we've finally found a team that truly gets 'it', and shares our passion and heart to reach the lost through good music."

Save the City Records just released Jekob's new radio single "Love Is All" to Christian CHR radio, and it will be available on iTunes and other digital outlets on Valentine's Day. Also, Jekob will be hosting a live chat and mini-concert online to share the new song with fans on Thursday February 9, at 7:00pm Pacific, 9:00pm Central, 10:00pm Eastern on his website at http://www.jekob.com

About Jekob Washington and The Washington Projects:
The Washington Projects, brother/sister duo Jekob & Rachael Washington, merge scintillating soul, rippling R&B, old school funk, and pure bred pop. It's an inventive merger that's given them instant accessibility with street credibility, while breaking down boundaries as an eclectic genre troupe. And while they may appear to be a new force on the horizon, the pair previously comprised two thirds of the Warner Brothers recording group SoulJahz, who took the industry by storm in the early 2000s with a spread of radio singles, press acclaim, and prominent appearances.

The duo performed alongside No Doubt, Nelly, Counting Crows, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Garbage, Boyz II Men and Erykah Badu in support of their major label debut "The Fault Is History." That project also set a streak of precedents, including group member Rachael becoming the youngest composer/producer/songwriter in the history of Warner Brothers Records (she was 17, beating out Prince at 19). They've been featured on CNN Headline News, E!, Billboard, The WB, plus a slot on Sessions@AOL beside Christina Aguilera, 50 Cent, Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Red Hot Chili Peppers. But even with the tremendous amount of buzz and overwhelming fanfare, record label red tape soon wrapped itself around the burgeoning band, putting a long delay on what would've been its sophomore CD and the band went indie for a few years. They're now back and ready to attack as The Washington Projects on Save the City Records.
